How do I know if WeBUILT DFW is right for me?

 

Participants:

  • Must have an intellectual and/or developmental disability (i.e. traumatic brain injury, Down syndrome, autism, etc.)
  • Must function relatively independently and be able to engage in group activities without an individual aide or attendant
  • Must want to actively participate in the WeBUILT DFW community
  • Must be able to follow established Behavioral Guidelines
  • Must behave in a cooperative manner without being a danger to self or others
  • Must provide their own independent living supports
  • Must have family members willing to be hands-on with their WeBUILT DFW Member and the WeBUILT DFW community.

  • Must interact with other potential participants over an extended period of time prior to joining the program to determine if they are indeed compatible.  Compatibility among participants is essential to ensure a vibrant community.

  • Fill out the registration form to join our WeBUILT Friendships group and become a WeBUILT Friend
  • Participate in social events and fundraising to help further our mission

 

What is the plan for the WeBUILT DFW living community?

  • We are searching for a property for WeBUILT DFW to purchase for use as a community gathering place or “hub”
  • It is critical that we find a location close to jobs, necessities, and transportation
  • Opportunities for WeBUILT Friends to either purchase or rent their own living space in the same location as the “hub”
  • Currently fundraising for a 50% down payment for the “hub” location
